Vision boards are a valuable and effective manifestation tool.
What they are not is a to-do list or a place to be small, or put your favourite affirmations.
This blog post is for you if you:
Whatever camp you're in I’m here for you!
Celebrities including Oprah, Jim Carrey, Beyoncé, Steve Harvey and Mel Robbins are all advocates of using vision boards to support their manifestation practices. My own experiences of using vision boards have included holidays (including uncanny experiences), exact earning figures, my move to Glastonbury, travel, even drawing specific people into my life.
Those who use vision boards are nearly twice as confident about achieving their goals.
Over 80% of small business owners who use vision boards reach more than half of their goals.
Vision boards are powerful tools that help align your brain, body, and vibrational energy with the life you’re creating – and I’m here to show you how I do it (and how you can too).
Vision boards are like a visual wish list; a collection of images that represent your dreams.
The first stage of a vision board is to get clear on what you want – the more crystal clear you can be the better. Please, for the love of Goddess, don’t bother with vague ‘be more positive’, or ‘earn more’ AND this is definitely NOT the space to give yourself advice – by all means have those kinds of ‘love yourself’ or ‘be kind’ reminders and affirmations elsewhere but your vision board is a picture of your perfect life – putting reminders like ‘forgive yourself’ or ‘let go’ is just telling the universe that is what you still want to be working on in the future. Instead put a picture of yourself on a great day, when you were living all those reminders.
Your vision board is like a photo album your future self has made to show you all the things you’ve already done. Your vision board makes this inevitable.
Vision boards tell your brain: this matters. And once your brain knows something matters, it starts quietly working to help you move towards it.
There’s a part of the brain called the Reticular Activating System (RAS). The reticular activating system (RAS) is a network of nerve pathways in the brainstem that plays a crucial role in regulating wakefulness, sleep-wake cycles, attention, and filtering sensory information. It acts as a gatekeeper, determining which stimuli reach conscious awareness.
It filters information out of the billions of bits of information you are receiving every second and decides what to show you. Most of what’s going on around you, you’ll never consciously notice. But once something is emotionally relevant, your RAS flags it up.
That’s why once you start thinking about getting a particular make or model of car or you get a new car, you suddenly see the same make and model everywhere. You’ve told your brain, this is important, so it starts pointing them out to you.
So when you create and look often at a vision board filled with images that are relevant – particularly emotionally relevant, that feel personal and alive – you’re telling your brain to pay attention to everything that will help get you there.
Atoms, those tiny little things of which everything is made, are themselves made of a nucleus surrounded by a/some electrons and a lot of what is apparently empty space – by a lot I mean around 99.99999999999% of it.
Buuuuuut, Quantum physicists have shown that all the ‘empty space’ is actually energy.
Just take a moment to think about just how much energy there is in comparison to matter.
00.000000000001% of everything is matter – the stuff around us and in us the rest is energy.
When it comes to the energy the potential electron/s if you will, within that space they behave in a rather magical way. They are ‘non-electrons’ in a way in that they exist in infinite ways, simultaneously, but when an observer focuses their attention on them this causes what is called a quantum event – where it transitions from ‘nothing’ or energy into an electron, i.e. a ‘something’. Then, when it stops being observed it goes back into ‘nothing’, or rather to energy.
When we think then of ourselves as energetic beings – or that 99.999999999999% of us that is an energetic being – that opens us up to the very real and scientifically proven fact that what we give our attention to, what we focus on ‘is’.
It’s our attention that brings it into being.
This is the same theory behind the long-held and widely used spiritual or self-help mantra that ‘where your thoughts go, energy flows’.
So when we focus on that beautiful, magical future when we create it, see it, feel it in the form of our Vision Boards - we are literally creating it in the Quantum field.
Vision boards are associated with the Law of Attraction. Probably the most well-known of the universal laws, the Law of Attraction is often used to support manifestation. In its most simplistic terms, it means like attracts like, and where your thoughts go, energy flows.
The phrase ‘Be, Do, Have’ is also commonly talked about when it comes to the Law of Attraction, meaning if you act like you are already in possession of all you desire, then what you do and have will naturally follow.
This law is about belief – specifically believing that it is possible for you to attract or attain the things you desire – and it’s about being on the same energetic and vibrational level as the things you desire.
How to apply it to Vision Boards:
Focus on what you want and practice gratitude for it as though it’s already yours.
Focus on the feelings of having, being and doing the things on your vision board will create.

Think about what you want – what you really, really want.
Think about your ultimately joyful, successful future self.
Absolutely best-case scenario.
Who is this person?
What clothes do they wear?
What work do they do?
Who do they work with?
Where do they live?
What scent do they wear?
Where do they eat?
How much money is in their bank account?
Where do they go on holiday?
What do they drive?
What do their mornings look like?
Where do they workout?
What is their workout?
What emotions do they feel most? Love, joy?

Once you’ve thought about your dream life, what you want to manifest, to co-create with the universe you need to choose and create your pictures.
The best pictures for your vision board are going to be those that have YOU in them and that make you feel something.
They need to emotionally resonate with you.
Think about all of your five senses when you are choosing your pictures and wherever possible include images of yourself in them. Cut and paste pictures, physically cut out, create stickers of yourself where you are joyous, happy, full of love on your device and put them in the photos. This is what I did in the title picture - stuck a picture of me happy and smiling onto a dream holiday destination, this is a beach in Wales and it is now where I'm going on a big family holiday later this year.
I started putting myself in the pictures on my vision boards after I read a lovely book on Feng Shui by Karen Kingston – it’s called Creating Sacred Space with Feng Shui and it’s hands down the best book on the topic I’ve ever read. She speaks about the importance of having pictures of ourselves looking happy in particular areas of our homes such as the Career and Life Path area and so I blended this with my Vision Boarding practice.
Pictures To Include on Your Vision Board
Your Vision Board is your dream life in visual form a pictorial wish list.
Here are some ideas you might want to include with your face added with Photoshop or Canva, or just using the stickers on your phone:
Holiday destinations
Dream homes
Financial goals (doctor your bank balance if you like!)
Business milestones (mock up a social media profile with 1M followers!)
A TED Talk stage but with you on the red dot
A sold out retreat - create a 'now sold out' future social media post.
You cooking in your dream kitchen
Doing a perfect yoga pose or earning your black belt
Shopping on 5th Avenue with arms full of bags (or Glastonbury high street if you are more about Woo than shoes).
An article about you in Forbes, Vogue or some other publication.
Health and fitness goals (fridge full of fruit and veg, clean bill of health from a health check).
Relationship dreams (new connections, family milestones, shared joy, ecstatic moments)
Remember to add notes including dates or names of people (e.g. Pippa and Willow Turkey Hol 2026)
You can even design images to look like old-school Polaroids using Canva (or similar) if that’s your vibe/era.
Remember: Make it specific. Make it yours.
You are creating the energy, the feelings that this is already done.
When you look at the pictures on your vision board you should be accessing the excitement, joy, pleasure, security that you would be experiencing if these things were your reality now.
Once you are feeling that really feeling it emotionally and with all your senses, your vibrational energy is a match for that, and the universe responds by giving you more of that.
Like attracts like.
I print them out because it's key to make them physical, like you want what's on them to become physical. And put them somewhere you will see them multiple times every single day – the fridge, the wall in your workspace, behind your computer, the wall by your bed – wherever your eye can soak them in regularly.
Bonus points if you can put them in the fortunate blessings/wealth or life journey/career part of your home according to Feng Shui principles and Bagua maps (see above).
You can of course also (not instead) use them as your screensaver and your lock screen, so that you are seeing them even more.
A potent way you can elevate your vision board is to turn it into a video or slideshow as well as having the pictorial version around. Be sure to watch the video as often as you can and at least a few times a week.
This is especially powerful if you intersperse your pictures with fractal and kaleidoscope visuals - like the one above.
You can download plenty of free-to-use fractal and kaleidoscopic video clips from major picture-sharing sites like Pixabay.
Fractals can be a great addition to meditation of any kind they encourage our brains to get into a suggestive, hypnotic state.
Kaleidoscopes, particularly when used with focused attention and relaxation techniques, help induce a suggestive or theta state by decreasing Beta wave activity and increasing Alpha and Theta waves. This transition allows for a state of greater suggestibility and access to the subconscious mind, helping to facilitate profound internal shifts and reprogramming.
As well as adding kaleidoscope/fractal visuals when making your slideshow or video, you can also add sounds and music.
You can add your favourite Feel-good anthems – songs that never fail to boost your mood and raise your vibrational frequency.
This is not the time for sad or angry songs however much you might like them (I love Rage Against the Machine, but not in this circumstance). Stick to those with a positive message and that are upbeat.
The most potent sound option for your Vision Board Video are the
Solfeggio frequencies – I mostly use 528Hz (known as the “miracle tone”) and 963Hz (linked to spiritual awakening and divine connection). You can find these on YouTube or Spotify.
These ancient healing tones were rediscovered by Dr. Joseph Puleo in the 1970s. They’re said to affect the body, brain, and energy field in powerful ways:
174Hz – Physical pain relief & tension reduction
285Hz – Cellular healing & regeneration
396Hz – Releases fear & guilt
417Hz – Clears negativity & boosts creativity
528Hz – DNA repair, love, and harmony
639Hz – Strengthens relationships & communication
741Hz – Detoxification & truth expression
852Hz – Spiritual insight & awakening
963Hz – Pineal activation, divine consciousness
The sounds and images combine to ease the brain into the perfect state for manifestation.
When we see our vision boards throughout our days, everyday, and watch the video vision boards regularly they become part of our normal. They are woven into the fabric of daily life.
The repetition helps turn the dream into a memory: not something that might happen, but something that’s already real.
Already done. Already ours.
It shifts our mindset from “how could that ever happen?” or “I’d love for this to happen” to “oh yes, we did that.”
Our dreams become inevitable because...IT'S ALREADY DONE!
